Distributed Model-Free Adaptive Predictive Control for Urban Traffic Networks

چکیده

Data-driven control without using mathematical models is a promising research direction for urban traffic due to the massive amounts of data generated every day. This article proposes novel distributed model-free adaptive predictive (D-MFAPC) approach multiregion networks. More specifically, dynamics network regions are first transformed into MFAPC models, and then, derived instead serve as prediction in design. The formulated problem finally solved with an alternating method multipliers (ADMM)-based approach. simulation results Linfen, Shanxi, China, show feasibility effectiveness proposed method.

Stochastic Model Predictive Control for Urban Traffic Networks

This paper proposes a stochastic model predictive control (MPC) framework for traffic signal coordination and control in urban traffic networks. One of the important features of the proposed stochastic MPC model is that uncertain traffic demands and stochastic disturbances are taken into account. Aiming to effectively model the uncertainties and avoid queue spillback in traffic networks, we dev...

Multilayer distributed model predictive control of urban traffic

Urban traffic is a relevant topic for the population of cities that suffer from daily traffic jams. People not only spend time on their journeys but also lose energy. With the purpose of improving the traffic flow, it is possible to control the temporization of traffic lights. However, because of the intrinsic characteristics of the system – multivariable, stochastic and dynamic – controlling t...

Integrated traffic control for mixed urban and freeway networks: A model predictive control approach

We develop a control method for networks containing both urban roads and freeways. These two road types are closely connected: congestion on the freeway often causes spill-back leading to urban queues, slowing down the urban traffic, and vice versa. As a consequence, control measures taken in one of the two areas can have a significant influence on the other area. We first develop a model that ...

Model Predictive Control of Distributed Energy Resources with Predictive Set-Points for Grid-Connected Operation

This paper proposes an MPC - based (model predictive control) scheme to control active and reactive powers of DERs (distributed energy resources) in a grid - connected mode (either through a bus with its associated loads as a PCC (point of common coupling) or an MG (micro - grid)). DER may be a DG (distributed generation) or an ESS (energy storage system). In the proposed scheme, the set - poin...
